I haven’t seen the name Cecil Hepworth since studying the advent of film in the History Of World Cinema – he was one of the first people to start putting images on film.  But this week I've seen Hepworth's name pop up in a few places, due to a huge Disney movie opening today.
Hepworth’s version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland is the first cinematic telling of the story, preceding Tim Burton’s version by more than a century! Before you head out to the theaters this weekend to see what Burton has come up with, watch the original.
